Mariki's work combines diplomatic experience with political, regulatory and geopolitical analysis, across energy and climate, trade, technology, life sciences, finance and philanthropy.
Mariki Advisory is run by Maris Tebecis.
Maris spent more than a decade in the Australian foreign service, with postings in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Belgrade and Zagreb, leading political and economic advocacy across the Nordic and Western Balkan regions. His work included building strategic partnerships, trade promotion, clean energy cooperation and crisis response.
He has since brought that experience to corporate, investor, philanthropic and public sector clients at Global Counsel in London and Kaya Partners in Copenhagen, advising on government engagement, geopolitical risk, ESG regulation, trade policy and climate strategy. His work has included political and stakeholder assessments across multiple markets, regulatory monitoring frameworks, white papers and public affairs strategy, as well as preparing senior executives for international platforms such as COP28, Climate Week NYC, the Munich Security Conference and UNGA.
He also co-led RE100 at Climate Group, the world's largest corporate renewable electricity initiative, leading its engagement with the UNFCCC and G20 and helping launch the Asia Clean Energy Coalition.
Maris is Regional Director for Denmark of the Australian Business Council of Scandinavia. He holds an MSc in Politics and Communication from the London School of Economics, where he was a General Sir John Monash Scholar, and science and commerce degrees from the Australian National University.
He speaks conversational Serbian/Croatian and Japanese, and is learning Danish.
